National Public Health Week

National Public Health Week is held annually during the first full week of April. Since 1995, the American Public Health Association (APHA) has organized this observance to recognize contributions to public health and raise awareness about current issues in the field.

The UTMB School of Public and Population Health (SPPH) joins APHA in celebrating National Public Health Week by hosting themed events Monday through Friday, with our Public Health Symposium taking place on Wednesday. During this week, SPPH collaborates with numerous community partners both on and off the island to increase awareness of local public health challenges and highlight organizations working to address these issues.

Future National Public Health Week dates:

April 6-12, 2026
April 5-11, 2027
