UTMB Health has medical opportunities available at the South Pole, McMurdo and Palmer Stations in Antarctica, as well as summer field camps. These positions are seasonal and we maintain a running list of interested candidates for future opportunities. Our ideal candidate is resourceful, has worked in emergency settings and/or field medicine and has strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Our facilities “on the ice” have x-ray, ultrasound and other diagnostic/therapeutic capabilities, but the lack CT and MRI imaging, for example.
