- determine appropriate follow up for patients with normal and abnormal lipid levels in three different situations
- explain medical and non-medical treatments for dyslipidemia and identify situations where medical therapy should be initiated
- define metabolic syndrome
- define diagnostic criteria for diabetes mellitus
- identify other screening tools in the work-up of the overweight or obese child or adolescent
- know when to refer to specialty services for further management
