Urticaria

Urticaria, or hives, are characterized by wheals which are white-to-light pink in the center with peripheral edema. They are transient, edematous, papules or plaques that are very pruritic. These are one of the very few skin lesions that last only a few hours-they resolve completely, only to appear elsewhere.
