Dr. Rustam joined UTMB health faculty as an Assistant Professor in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2025. She graduated from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon back in 2017 after which she did a year of Gastroenterology and Hepatology research fellowship. During that year she worked on multiple research projects including PPI and reflux disease after bariatric surgery and Hepatitis C treatment. She moved to the United States in 2018 and joined the Internal Medicine residency program at Lankenau Medical Center in Philadelphia. She then completed her Gastroenterology fellowship at University of Iowa. Dr. Rustam is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She is a member of multiple professional organizations including ACG, ASGE and AASLD.
