This Project will evaluate the toxicity of selected alkylated and oxygenated PAH, and PAH extracts from seafood (in collaboration with Project 2) using validated cell-based assay systems, as well as elucidate the metabolism of the petrogenic PAH. The project will also examine the potential for the petrogenic PAH to cause oxidative stress and DNA mutagenesis.
