The Shrimp Scamper, the 5K Fun Run/Walk that accompanies the annual Galveston Island Shrimp Festival, returns on Saturday, Sept. 24! UTMB faculty, staff and students can sign up to participate in the run/walk at a 15 percent discount (see code and link below). The discount applies to the "5K Only" registration level. (Gumbo Stroll ticket not included.)

Proceeds from the run will benefit the Justin David Hughes Fund at UTMB. Hughes was a second-year medical student at UTMB when he took his own life. The Hughes family created the fund to provide mental health education and resources to UTMB students in hopes of preventing future tragedies like Justin's.
