Dr. Camilo Mosquera, Assistant Professor in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and an expert in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery, recently served as faculty in the inaugural microsurgery course held in Panama City, Panama, from November 22 to 24, 2024. This historic event marked the first microsurgery training of its kind in the country, gathering a multidisciplinary group of participants.

The course welcomed residents and attending surgeons from specialties such as ENT, Plastic Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Representatives from Panama’s National Ministry of Health were also in attendance, emphasizing the importance of this initiative for advancing healthcare in the region.
