Dr. Christine Shokrzadeh and Dr. Mitchell Cox presented educational talks at the Postgraduate course of the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery (SAVS) in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Dr. Shokrzadeh’s course was on “Percutaneous Thrombectomy of Acute Iliofemoral DVT Complicated by Subsequent Massive Pulmonary Embolism.” Dr. Cox’s course covered “Recurrent Filter-related Iliocaval Thrombosis.”
Dr. Cox co-authored a poster presentation titled “Perioperative and Long-term Outcomes of Patients with Pulmonary Embolism Undergoing Catheter-directed Thrombolysis versus Percutaneous Mechanical Thrombectomy.” Also, Dr. Shokrzadeh and Dr. Cox. gave mock oral exams for the senior vascular surgery trainees.
This year’s conference had a western theme. Dr. Cox won the award for best western attire at the meeting, and Dr. Shokrzadeh was inducted as a new member of the SAVS.
