Dr. Stephen Williams presented “strategies to Facilitate Research Between Regional Institutions“ at the 2nd Annual Collaborative Urology Research Symposium. Invited participating institutions included Houston Methodist Hospital, UT Houston, Baylor College of Medicine, UTMB, and Texas A&M. His call to other urological researchers included encouragement to break down silos, be humble, remain mission-driven, and relentlessly pursue collaborating/sharing ideas and improving healthcare. At the event Marc Boom, MD, President and CEO of Houston Methodist, celebrated Dr. Williams’ commitment to strategic regional collaborations while improving and promoting high value care research.

The Annual Collaborative Urology Research Symposium (CUReS) has a primary goal of creating an in-person networking opportunity for aspiring Urology researchers. It serves as a platform where young investigators in the field can connect with established leaders in urological research from their region. This symposium offers a valuable chance for medical students who may not have access to urology programs at their own institutions to engage with urology faculty members within the local area.
