Welcome to the section of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch. We are committed to providing high quality, evidence-based care for a variety of colorectal conditions. We are actively involved in quality improvement and clinical
research projects to enhance patient care. We have had residents participate in research and present at various meetings including the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and Digestive Disease Week.
We offer minimally invasive options (laparoscopic or robotic surgery) when conditions allow. We also follow an Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) pathway to optimize patient care in the post-operative period. Through close collaboration with our colleagues
in gastroenterology, oncology, radiology and pathology we ensure top quality care for our patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and cancer. We are dedicated to caring for people in our part of Texas and we provide services at all four campuses
at UTMB – Angleton-Danbury, Webster/Clear Lake, League City and Galveston.
