Internship Information

The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers a one-year internship for dental school graduates seeking additional education and experience.

Overview
The UTMB Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Training Program is a CODA-accredited full-scope program that covers core oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures, including head and neck oncology, microvascular reconstruction, TMJ surgery, and OSA surgery. The residency currently enrolls one resident per year for a four-year certificate program. The Division consists of three full-time faculty members. This internship prepares applicants for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency, with responsibilities similar to those of a PGY-1 resident.

Interns are fully integrated into the residency program and share the same responsibilities as first-year categorical residents. In addition to excellent clinical training, interns participate in all didactic components of the residency program.
