Biography
Dora Hawkinson, MSHP, PA-C, is an Assistant Professor of Instruction for the Department of Physician Assistant Studies in the John Sealy School of Medicine. A native Houstonian, she graduated in 1997 from the UTMB Physician Assistant program and began her career in the fields of endocrinology and bariatric medicine. She then worked in private practice gastroenterology both as a full-time clinician as well as a sub-investigator and coordinator of industry funded research. She has also worked in hepatology, and palliative care. In 2014 she earned a Masters of Health Professions and joins the UTMB PA Department clinical faculty full-time beginning January 2018.
Ms. Hawkinson’s clinical interests center around patient quality of life issues and chronic disease. She is a member of the Texas Gulf Coast Physician Assistant Association (TGCPAA). She and her husband reside in Pearland, Texas. Hobbies include hiking, drawing, and reading.
