NIMLAS Workshop Planned for 8/31
The Network for Innovative Methods in Longitudinal Studies on Aging (NIMLAS) announces a new workshop: Workshop on Community Advisory Boards. On Thursday, August 31, Dr. Joseph E. Gaugler from the University of Minnesota will provide a two-hour workshop, "Community Advisory Boards in Aging Research." The critical nature of the robust incorporation of research participant and community perspectives in aging science will be discussed. Based on the experiences of Dr. Gaugler and his research team, this workshop will share how the Families and Long-Term Care Projects have incorporated persons with dementia, family/friend care partner, and care professional perspectives in various research projects and other elements of aging-related, scientific infrastructure via community advisory boards and similar efforts.
