Even after short periods of physical inactivity, there can be challenges to restore muscle health in adults. Currently, strategies are often compromised by an inability to identify individual needs and tailored exercise plan. Researchers hope this will help to address critical knowledge gaps around restoring muscle health following periods of inactivity.

This study seeks healthy men and postmenopausal women aged 50-65. Participants are required to attend 9 study visits at the research site over a 4-5 week period and will be reimbursed for participating in this study. The study visits will be completed at the UTMB Galveston campus; some visits can be done at the League City campus if more convenient.

Why Participate? Your general health, physical activity and diet will be closely monitored during the study. You will help to develop a broader understanding of how to restore muscle health following inactivity. You will be compensated for your time and effort. Qualified health professionals will monitor your health as it relates to the study.

More details about the study are available here on the study website. If you are interested in participating you can contact Sean Kilroe (spkilroe@utmb.edu 409-747-1918) or Liza Durgens (lidurgens@utmb.edu 409-772-2578).
