If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease (PD), you’ll want to attend this seminar and learn about SPARX3 research. SPARX3 IRB#20-0205
Monday, June 20, 10 AM-Noon.
Presenters: UTMB Sealy Center on Aging Researchers, Summer Chapman, and Jessica Spahn.
The goal of SPARX3 is to test whether the progression of the signs of PD is decreased in people who have not initiated medication for PD when they perform endurance treadmill exercise. 370 persons diagnosed with PD who have not yet initiated medication, aged 40-80 years, will be randomly assigned to either moderate-intensity or high-intensity exercise training. Whether you choose to participate in the research or not, you’ll learn about the future of PD research and the progress being made.
