Clinical experiences for the students are available throughout the UTMB Health System, which includes both hospitals and outpatient clinics in Galveston, Angleton Danbury, League City and Webster, Texas. Each campus offers a wide variety of unique opportunities for students ranging from neonatal to geriatrics. UTMB also staffs the prison hospital located on the main campus in Galveston.

All schools that place students at UTMB have a Program Agreement and Affiliation Agreement that establishes a contractual relationship between the academic side (schools) and the clinical side (UTMB Rehabilitation). The UTMB format for these agreements is preferred.

Volunteer/Shadowing Opportunities

Potential applicants to an OT/OTA or PT/PTA Program are required to observe rehabilitation staff treating patients. Rehab Services requires a commitment of 40 hours of observation in order to participate, and candidates are required to complete on-boarding through the Volunteer Department.
