Research Compliance
Conflict of Interest
UTMB is dedicated to maintaining high standards of excellence, integrity, and accountability in our conduct, whether it involves research activities, clinical practice, institutional decision-making, or engaging in outside activities by our faculty and employees.
The Conflict of Interest Program within UTMB's Office of Institutional Compliance supports outside interactions of UTMB faculty, professional staff, students and employees with federal, state, and local governments, foundations and non-profit organizations, and with business and industry as important parts of their research, education, and public service activities.
However, the ever-increasing complexity of our society and the various relationships between faculty members and outside institutions require attention to ensure the avoidance of real or apparent conflict of interest issues.
On this site you will find helpful information and links to relevant UTMB policies and guidance governing conflicts of interest and ethical standards of conduct, as well as educational and training resources.
