The Pediatric Radiology section has assumed a leadership role in ultrasound of the acute abdomen, neonatal medicine, emergency radiology, fractures and the C-spine.

14 of the Pediatric Fellows trained at UTMB have gone on to be directors of their own programs. Residents receive a solid foundation in Pediatric Radiology so that it allows them to practice modern, efficient pediatric radiology in a general group.

The Section is very active academically with 5 standard textbooks published over the years. Pediatric Radiology generates 4 - 6 peer reviewed papers per year. The section is an active academic entity with equal emphasis on cutting edge investigation and teaching practical pediatric radiology to residents.

Pediatric Radiology section provides a well-rounded, hands-on experience with all imaging modalities and is in the forefront of academia.
