All new IACUC members will receive an orientation from the IACUC Sr. Manager. This introduction includes appropriate references such as; the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, the "guide", the Animal Welfare Act and Animal Welfare Regulations,
the Public Health Service Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. The basis of the orientation will be the IACUC members manual.
Members receive continuing education and training material from organizations such as; the Foundation for Biomedical Research (FBR), the National Association for Biomedical Research NABR), the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW), the United Stated
Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R), the Scientist Center for Animal Welfare (SCAW), as well as provided the opportunity to attend online and in person conferences.
