Whitney Chavez

Administrative Specialist

Whitney joined UTMB in November 2024 as an Administrative Specialist in the Academic Enterprise Service Center. She supports the Provost’s Office by managing various administrative tasks and ensuring efficient operations, drawing on her organizational skills and attention to detail. Whitney believes that a well-coordinated office environment is essential to achieving broader institutional goals, and she approaches her work with a positive perspective and dedication enhancing the team’s effectiveness.  

Before joining UTMB, Whitney served in diverse administrative roles across industries including commercial real estate, non-profits, and oil and gas. Her background encompasses experience as an administrative assistant and event manager, equipping her with a versatile skill set.  

Whitney holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Houston and is committed to furthering her knowledge in government relations and business operations to support her future career ambitions.  

Outside of work, Whitney enjoys supporting Houston sports teams, outdoor activities, and exploring policies related to social justice and international affairs.
