Erin Bannen

Erin Bannen joined UTMB’s Office of the Provost as a Senior IT Instructional Designer in November 2024. She supports the POWER Team by creating world-class learning and training materials. Erin believes that making research-based content is the best way to support learners. 

Before joining the Office of the Provost in 2024, Erin worked for seven years as an instructional designer for various organizations including Ibotta, Promineo Tech, and Central Health. She was also an adjunct faculty member at Austin Community College for four years. While there she won a Faculty Fellows research fellowship that allowed her to study research-based teaching interventions with 20 other professors for one year.  

Erin holds a Bachelor of English and Creative Writing degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Liberal Arts with a Humanities Concentration degree from St. Edward’s University. Outside of work Erin enjoys trying to keep succulents alive and spending time with her mischievous cats.
