This conversation features Kathryn Cunningham, PhD, Professor Chauncey Leake Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology, Vice Chairman, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Director, Center for Addiction Research at the University of Texas Medical Branch; Christina Merritt, PhD, Director of Molecular and Translational Therapeutics, Center for Addiction Research, University of Texas Medical Branch; Amanda McLauchlin, ACPS, Executive Director, Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families; Shannon Lien, Galveston County Coalition, Bay Area Council on Drugs and Alcohol; and Kimberly Beatty, LCSW-S, Executive Director, ADA Women's Recovery Center. Please join us as we explore and discuss the current research around substance use and overdose.Due to space limitations, registration is required for this event and will be limited to 30 attendees.  Please RSVP to Krista Bohn at krbohn@utmb.edu.Light refreshments will be provided. SCI Café is a community dialogue about science, health and possibilities among community members, researchers and scientists. The purpose is to engage and connect community members with science and science with the local community.
