Research Project Manager
A Research Project Manager position related to emerging viruses and vaccines is available in the laboratory of Dr. Alexander Bukreyev (Department of Pathology). The research projects to be coordinated are aimed at investigation of pathogenesis of emerging viral infections and development of vaccines and other countermeasures. The successful candidate will be expected to manage and coordinate studies between laboratory members involved in the project, to manage and coordinate interactions with external collaborators, to maintain project schedules and reporting, to assist with the acquisition of animal subjects, and to write and maintain protocols for animal experiments. While work on the projects include experiments in BSL4, BSL3 and BSL2 labs, the Research Project Manager is not expected to work under biocontainment or do any experimental work.

Min Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in scientific field or equivalent and two years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s (preferably) or bachelor’s degree in virology, viral immunology and/or molecular biology or a related field. Experience with virology, viral immunology and/or molecular biology.

Research Scientist I, Research Scientist II, or Research Scientist III, Virology
A Research Scientist I, Research Scientist II, or Research Scientist III position related to emerging viruses which require work in biocontainment, including but not limited to Ebola, Marburg and Lassa viruses, is available in the laboratory of Dr.
Alexander Bukreyev, Department of Pathology, University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Specific areas of research are related but not limited to vaccines, monoclonal antibodies and epigenetic mechanisms contributing to immunopathogenesis.
The successful candidate is expected to run research projects, write manuscripts, present data at national and international conferences, assist the PI in writing progress reports, grant proposals, protocols of animal experiments, assist in supervision
of Ph.D. students and research associates. The work will include experiments in BSL-4, BSL-3 and BSL-2 labs. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and should have experience in virology, viral immunology and/or molecular virology. A documented experience
of work under BSL-4 and/or BSL3 biocontainment is desirable. Applicants should be highly motivated, able to conduct independent research, and have publications in internationally recognized English language journals. Excellent communication skills
