  • Academic Enterprise: Dr. Alan Landay Joins UTMB as VP, Team Science

    We are excited to share that Alan Landay, PhD, has joined UTMB as Vice President of Team Science, effective Feb. 1. In this role, he will bring research and clinical experts together to create collaborations at UTMB and with institutions across the region, state, and world. He also serves as Professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Microbiology & Immunology.

Events

UTMB HIV Symposium 2024

This day-long event will feature speakers from all 5 UTMB schools broken into 3 research categories: bench, bedside, and community. Trainees will be given the opportunity to highlight their research in a 1-slide 60-second lighting round of talks, which will culminate in a 2-hour poster presentation session at the end of the day.

Lastly, we are proud to announce our keynote speaker, Dr. Jay levy, who was one of the earliest researchers to isolate the HIV virus in 1984.
