The annual Osler Oration is held on or about July 12, William Osler's birthday.

The twenty-third annual event celebrating Sir William Osler's 175th birthday was held on July 12,  2024 at the Top Gallant Room, 2301 The Strand, Third Floor, Galveston, TX.

The event featured the induction of the Osler Scholars, Osler Student Scholars, and the recognition of the recipients of the John P. McGovern Lifetime Achievement Award in Oslerian Medicine, Excellence in Clinical Teaching Awards and the John and Mary Ann Stobo Award. 

The 2024 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award was Dr. Richard W. Goodgame.
