Students for Old Red (SFOR) was originally established as a passion project by two of UTMB's former medical  students, Rachel Duncan, MD and Jacob Herstein, MD in support of Dr. Paula Summerly’s efforts to establish a medical museum to display UTMB’s impressive heritage collections. Members of SFOR now have the opportunity to help with any and all of the following tasks: 

• leading tours of the Old Red building
• helping conserve specimens
• establishing support for students on campus interested in learning about the human body
• advocating on behalf of the Old Red Museum project as well as efforts to preserve Old Red’s legacy
