The Vascular Neurology Fellowship Program at University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston was his approved in January 2021 by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The program offers a one-year fellowship training.
Our fellowship program is designed to train future vascular neurologists in the diagnosis, management, and prognosis of cerebrovascular diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. We aim to train excellent clinical educators-scientists of tomorrow for a dedicated career in the field of Vascular Neurology. At the completion of fellowship training, the fellow is expected to be proficient in caring for patients with a variety of cerebrovascular diseases, common as well as rare disorders.
We envision development of excellent clinicians, who would dedicate their careers to investigating the epidemiology and pathophysiology of cerebrovascular diseases, applying their knowledge to new therapeutic advances as well as development of preventative therapies. We aim to provide a multidisciplinary experience throughout fellowship training through exposure to several settings including the emergency department, inpatient/telemetry unit, neurological-critical care intensive care unit, outpatient clinics and neuroendovascular service.
