Wellbeing Series & Schwartz Rounds

The MyWellbeing Department is excited to launch The Wellbeing Series and begin sponsoring UTMB’s existing Schwartz Rounds

These in-person offerings will initially occur monthly in Galveston.  Pizza provided, first come first serve.

What is the Wellbeing Series?

The MyWellbeing Department is committed to providing engaging opportunities to build self-awareness, wellbeing knowledge, and resilience.  Wellness, Wellbeing, Engagement and Professional Fulfillment are all terms being used to capture the idea that the environment in which we work and the culture we create together matters.  The model we are using relies on 3 domains to define major drivers of wellbeing within our workplaces: efficiency, culture and individual attributes with each of these having their own components.

Increasing our understanding of the impact of wellbeing on every facet of both our home and work lives leads to the exploration of how to best find wholeness.  Topics will be introduced and then participants will be encouraged to engage the topics in ways that bring meaning to them.

What are Schwartz Rounds?

UTMB Galveston Campus is a member of “The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare,” an organization dedicated to providing education, training, and support to unite caregivers from a range of disciplines. Schwartz Rounds are in-person “grand rounds” style events and focus on panel discussions of themes related to the emotional impact of patient care and working in the health care system. Panelists from diverse disciplines participate in the sessions. After listening to a brief panel presentation, attendees are invited to share their own perspectives on the topic or broader, related issues.

If you have an interest participating in Schwartz Rounds as a panelist for a particular topic noted below in the schedule, please contact Jeff Farroni.
