| Specimen Requirements: | Cells degenerate quickly in CSF. Fresh specimens should be sent immediately to the Cytopathology Laboratory. Note: please indicate whether sample derives from lumbar puncture, ventricular tap or Ommaya reservoir. |
| Collection: | If proper specimen identification and information such as collection date/time and collector are not present in order, specimen will either be referred back to medical staff or delayed until information is obtained. |
