Faculty Profile

  • Lucas S. Blanton obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2005. After medical school he completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2008. After residency, Dr. Blanton moved back to Galveston to complete his subspecialty training in Infectious Diseases. During his second year of fellowship he joined Dr. David Walker's Rickettsial Research Laboratory. He joined our faculty as an Instructor in 2010 with a focus on Rickettsiology in addition to clinical Infectious Diseases.
