FORMAL EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS

Beyond the core rotations, fellows participate in weekly educational conferences attended by faculty within the GI division.  Conferences rotate and include journal club, board review, case discussion, pathology conference, quality improvement, fellow wellness, liver conference, core lecture topics, guest speakers, Endoscopy QA, GI-Surgery multidisciplinary conference, as well as weekly multidisciplinary tumor board.

CONTINUITY CLINICS

In addition to rotating with faculty in sub-specialty focused clinics, fellows also have their own continuity clinic each week.  This is general GI and hepatology clinic which provides fellows with the opportunity to develop relationships with and provide longitudinal care to patients under the guidance of a primary faculty supervisor throughout the duration of the year.

RESOURCES FOR CAREER AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Fellows are paired with a faculty mentor starting in their first year to advise them throughout their training, and often identify additional mentors as career goals evolve.

Membership in professional organizations is encouraged, including AGA, ACG, AASLD, ASGE.  Board-focused study materials are provided, as well as dedicated conference time for board preparation.

We are very proud of our fellow's accomplishments, and many graduates pursue additional training in advanced endoscopy and hepatology with successful careers in both academic and private practice settings.
