Dear Members of the UTMB Community,

The 2012 State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) is well under way and will continue through November 30, 2012. I’m encouraged by the level of giving during the first week of the campaign; we are almost one-third of the way to reaching our target goal of $475,000.
Hats off to these departments that have already achieved 100% participation:

Administrative IS — Flow Management Team
Administrative IS — Leadership Team
Business Development & Marketing
Fleet Management — Repair & Maintenance
Human Resources — Leave Management
IS — Clinical Revenue Reporting
Office of the AVP — Electronic Health Network
Office of the Executive Vice President, CB&FO
Otolaryngology Service Line
Radiology — Nursing

For those of you who have already taken the time to give, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude. Your generous contributions will make a difference in the lives of many! Your pledge to the UTMB Health SECC campaign allows agencies across our region to be there with a helping hand. Every dollar helps.
As a reminder:

  • You may review charities and contribute online at www.utmb.edu/SECC. (No special PINs are needed this year; just use your normal UTMB username and password.) Checks and cash are also welcome.
  • It’s your choice: you can designate your gift to any of hundreds of SECC-approved charitable organizations.
  • You can “Give where you live,” ensuring that your gift goes to an approved agency in the community you care most about.

You can get more information or give online at www.utmb.edu/secc. If you have any questions or need help, please contact Becky Trout at 409-747-2734 or at rltrout@utmb.edu.

I’m also excited to announce the winner of the new Apple iPad incentive gift. Please join me in congratulating Ms. Beverly Dowling, assistance vice president, Community Health Network.

As I said last week and will reiterate throughout this campaign, we know what it means to work together to change lives at UTMB. Let’s continue to work together to work more wonders and change more lives.

Regards,
William R. Elger, CPA
Executive Vice President
Chief Business and Finance Officer
