A reminder that annual evaluations for eligible employees must be completed — including all necessary signatures — by July 31, 2014. Meeting this firm deadline is extremely important because all UT System institutions, including UTMB, are required to certify that all eligible employees have received an annual evaluation for FY14. The deadline will not be extended, so be sure to plan now to ensure compliance with the UT System requirement.
 
Eligible employees include full-time, part-time and PBL employees hired on or before Feb. 28, 2014. Graduate assistants, residents and any employee who received a performance review after Jan. 1, 2014, do not have to be evaluated at this time.
 
Managers and leaders responsible for evaluating employees are accountable for making sure evaluations are done by the deadline, and they must personally certify that the task is complete. Managers using the new ePerformance system are encouraged to begin the evaluation process as soon as possible. The ePerformance tool includes a number of beneficial features, but it requires multiple steps and, like any new system, has a significant learning curve.
