Stoelting Parallel Rod Floor Apparatus
The Stoelting Parallel Rod Floor Apparatus, designed for assessing the effects of drugs, brain damage and disease, on motor coordination and fatigue, is ideal for use with knockout and transgenic mice. The Parallel Rod Floor Tests high throughput design
makes it an extremely versatile and valuable screening and phenotyping tool.

Ugo Basile Hot/Cold Plate
The Ugo Basile Hot/Cold Plate offers a wide temperature range between -5°C to 65°C. It can be used as a conventional hot plate, to carry out a rapid precise screening of narcotic type analgesic drugs according to the well known Hot Plate Test
devised by B.B. Eddy and D. Leinbach, or as a cold plate to study cold receptors and cold allodynia.

SDI Prepulse Inhibition (PPI) and Acoustic Startle Response (ASR) System
The San Diego Instruments PPI/ASR System is used for measuring startle habituation, pre-pulse inhibition (PPI) and Fear Potentiated Startle (FPS). Users can execute any and all startle reflex testing paradigms using the SR-LAB Software and specialized
additional kits—and ensure accuracy using SR-LAB’s proprietary accelerometer which accommodates the rapid force changes in startle testing.

Ugo Basile Shuttle Avoidance Box
Active avoidance is a fear-motivated associative avoidance task. In this task the animal has to learn to predict the occurrence of an aversive event (shock) based on the presentation of a specific stimulus (tone), in order to avoid the aversive event
by moving to a different compartment.
The measures recorded include number of avoidances (the mouse crossing to the other compartment during the warning signal), number of non-responses (the mouse failing to cross to the other compartment during the trial), response latency (latency to avoid
or escape), number of intertrial responses (i.e., crossing the barrier within the intertrial interval), and serve as an index of learning and allows memory to be assessed.
