League City Bariatric Surgery, Jennie Sealy 9D Transplant Clinic win Always Awards!

Dr. Vicente Resto, chief physician executive, Faculty Group Practice and senior vice president, Health System Ambulatory Operations and Surgical Services, announced at the January Health System Leadership Team meeting that the FY2025 first quarter Always Award goes to the League City Bariatric Surgery Clinic.

In addition to numerous favorable comments shared by patients about how well they were cared for, this clinic consistently received high scores for “Likelihood to Recommend.”

Scores for the first quarter:

  • August—100%
  • September—100%
  • October—100%
  • First quarter—100%

“The clinic for the first quarter really had a perfect score for the four months of the quarter regarding likelihood to recommend,” Resto said. “So, outstanding work.”

Among some of the comments from patients:

  • “Everyone is very caring.”
  • “Everyone is friendly and helpful.”
  • “I felt very at ease.”
  • “Dr. Samreen and her resident were very nice and answered all my questions that I had. Overall, the office visit went well, and I feel assured moving forward with my surgery.

  • “Mrs. Scott showed great concern for my health and made many recommendations that would assist with my continued weight loss.”
  • “She was awesome. Because of Mrs. Scott, I have a new PCP, and I feel like she heard me. I am grateful to her.”

The Ambulatory Always Award goes to Jennie Sealy 9D Transplant.

“What's really striking is the rating for the hospital for the last quarter—September, October, November— is 100%; 20 patient responses would rate us a nine or 10 on a zero-to-10 scale,” said Dr. Jerry Mansfield, vice president and chief nursing executive.

“That's pretty remarkable and communication with doctors, communication with nurses and discharge information are all very high. So just extraordinary,” he said.

Among some of the comments from patients:

  • “Miss Ruby was my night nurse—she was awesome.”
  • “The ladies who did the cleaning in my room were friendly and efficient.”
  • “Dr. Richardson was very attentive, informative and kind.”
  • “The room was clean, well-stocked with blankets and shower items and well maintained.”
  • “Everyone was so nice.”
  • “Physician came early every morning and was very patient with me.”
  • “I called the kitchen to get my lunch before I left. The lady weas very nice and polite in taking my order.”
  • “Overall staff were pleasant and courteous.”
  • “They were always s friendly and nice.”
  • “Everyone was so nice.”
  • “Their names were written on the panel daily.”
  • “Provided daily information on tests.”

“I want to highlight that the comments that people are making aren't just about the nursing staff,” Mansfield said. “It's cleaning; it’s about the physicians; it’s about the dietary services.”

Congratulations to our first-quarter Always Award winners! Great job!
