Radiologic Technologist at the UTMB Urgent Care clinic in Webster

When did you start work at UTMB?

I started working at UTMB in June, 2024

What is the best thing about your job?

The best thing about being a radiographer for me is helping my patients and interacting with them while also making them as comfortable and secure as possible while conducting their examinations. It’s always so rewarding to see them leave my X-ray room with a beautiful smile on their faces and gratitude and  for making their day better.

Who are your heroes?

My heroes are my husband, my dad, my mom and my older sister. My husband is the epitome of kindness and love. He’s my Superman and safe space! Everything feels better and they make more sense when he’s involved.

My mom and sister are exemplary and awesome mothers, and I cant wait to follow in their footsteps when I become a mom someday. I also strive daily to keep building the various great characteristics they’ve imbibed in me such as kindness, perseverance, resilience, strength and courage.

What is your favorite quote?

“Behind every great woman is another great woman.”

What are three words that describe you?

Compassionate, family-oriented and resilient.

Tell us about your life outside of work.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family (especially my niece and nephew). I love traveling all around the world with my husband; we’ve been to five countries so far, and we are hoping to have visited at least 20 countries by 2030). I also enjoy binge watching shows and cooking.

What is the coolest thing (or a fun fact) about you?

I’m a great cook!

What is a dream that you want to make come true one day?

Being a mom has always been my dream for as long as I can remember and it’s such a blessing that I now have a worthy person to fulfill this dream with. I can’t wait to have a bunch of awesome little ones with my husband. Purchasing a beautiful home for my parents is also a dream that I’m planning to make happen very soon.

What is a cause you’re passionate about?

Helping the less privileged children.

What is a favorite memory from childhood?

That would be Christmas! It’s still my favorite holiday. It’s something about the joy, fulfillment and happiness on everyone’s faces. I grew up in a Christian home and Dad’s birthday is also on December 25th, so it was always a double celebration in our home and every year’s celebration was always better than the last.

What has been your most meaningful accomplishment so far?

Graduating  college and getting married to the man of my dreams.

What is it that you can’t live without?

My faith and Christian beliefs in God.

If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be and why?

It would be Bora Bora or Switzerland with my Husband. They are both such beautiful countries and have always looked like a dream to me whenever I see pictures and videos of them. My husband has always wanted to go to Switzerland too, so it would be a perfect vacation for us both whenever we decide to go.

If you could pick any superpower, what would it be?

The power of healing. It breaks my heart when I see innocent little children suffering from deadly diseases. Working in health care and seeing these little babies fighting to stay alive every day always makes me wish I had a superpower to take all their pain away and bring happiness back into them and their parents' lives.
