"I always refrigerate my dough for at least an hour as it makes the cookies a bit higher. Because I like a cakier cookie, I add an extra 1/2 cup of flour to the recipe. Enjoy!"

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg (room temperature is best)
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (12-ounce bag) semi-sweet chocolate chips or whatever kind you prefer
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Mix together the first four ingredients.
- Once combined, add the next four ingredients and mix.
- Drop by small spoonful onto a baking sheet, not too close together.
- Bake for about 8 ½ minutes. (You may have to adjust for your oven.)
- Allow to cool slightly before removing them from the pan.
