Linh Nguyen was ordained deacon and elder in the United Methodist Church in Redland, California. He came from Vietnam, his homeland, through a refugee program and settled in Los Angeles in 1983. He became a U.S. citizen in 1988.
Linh’s theology is: “God is always actively at work through Jesus Christ of Nazareth in the power of the Holy Spirit to save, to heal and to deliver people, and so am I.”
Linh’s undergraduate degree was a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at California State University, Northridge in 1990. He pastored for eight years in Southwest Houston from 1996 to 2004 to develop a ministry among the Vietnamese refugees and immigrants. He completed his Clinical Pastoral Education program in Houston at the Texas Medical Center in 2004 and has worked as a chaplain ever since. He loves to engage and connect with people through listening and offering the graces of Jesus Christ.
Linh has been hosting a radio program on KREH 900 AM about youth and social issues since 2001 and hosted a TV program called the Religious View. He attends a local church with his family.
“I am loving God’s people as I have learned to love myself and grow in His grace,” he says. “I love to walk along the beach, take pictures and listen to music.”
Linh is married to Caroline and has three children: Lisa, Steven and Ricky.
