Dr. Thangamani Named Pathology Researcher of the Year
Dr. Saravanan Thangamani has been named Pathology Researcher of the Year at the University of Texas Medical Branch. In addition to his innovative research on the Powassan virus, a tick borne flavivirus found in North America and Russia, Dr. Thangamani is responsible for the rearing of tick and mosquito colonies for use in high containment research in the Galveston National Laboratory and for training graduate students to work with vectors in the lab.
