Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Alumni
In 1969, the University of Texas Board of Regents permitted the establishment of a degree-granting Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences on the UTMB campus. Today, the program has expanded to more than a dozen graduate programs, four institutes, and over 10 research centers. GSBS graduates are currently found in prestigious and influential positions in universities, government, and industry.

The UTMB Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Alumni Associates exists to strengthen and support the GSBS by promoting life-long relationships between alumni, trainees, faculty, university leadership, and friends of UTMB.

The GSBS Distinguished Alumnus Award is presented annually to a graduate who has made outstanding contributions in the area of service, involvement, and leadership or has achieved special recognition in his or her professional career. This is the highest honor bestowed to an alumnus by the GSBS Alumni Associates.
