The Family Medicine Interest Group in conjunction with the Department of Family Medicine will host the first ever Sports Medicine Procedures Workshop. Medical students will experience hands-on training in:Diagnostic Anterior Knee UltrasoundsC-Spine InjuriesUltrasound Needle-Guided InjectionsSports Medicine is a fellowship option after 3 years of family medicine residency. It blends knowledge of several fields including Orthopedics, physical therapy and exercise physiology. In sports medicine, you focus on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions related to physical activity and sports. They work with individuals of varying ages and see various conditions from sprains and strains to fractures and overuse injuries. If you want to get more knowledge on Sports Medicine and get HANDS ON EXPERIENCE this workshop will be an incredible opportunity for you.
