On Thursday, February 29th, 2024 the UTMB Health Department of Family Medicine hosted the 3rd Annual Women's Health Workshop, a collaboration between the Award Winning Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) and the Obstetrics Gynecology Student Society (OGSS). Both Family Medicine faculty and residents and OBGYN faculty and residents were on hand to teach over 37 medical students 7 different women's health procedures: Sonosite/Doptone, Nexplanon Insertion (IUD insertion), Cervical checks, Speculum and Pelvic exam, Breast exams, Contraception 101 and Vaginal Delivery. We would like to recognize the student leaders of this workshop, Shehani Jayawickrama, Raven Harding and Briana Ortiz. We would also like to thank the faculty and residents of both departments that volunteered their valuable time and skills.
