Two From UTMB Receive Dunn Awards
Congratulations to two UTMB faculty members who have been named John S. Dunn Collaborative Research Award Program recipients.
Junki Maruyama, DVM, PhD, Assistant Professor in theDepartment of Pathology, is PI for “Antiviral effect of monosaccharide analog against highly pathogenic RNA viruses.” His co-PIs are Waldemar Priebe and Izabela Fokt of MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Agenor Limon, MSc, PhD, Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology, is Co-PI for “Exploring excitatory to inhibitory synaptic ratio as a novel target in bipolar disorder and suicide.” PI is Gabriel Fries of UT Health Science Center at Houston.
Awarded by the Gulf Coast Consortia, this seed grant program continues to build a collaborative environment and fund projects with high potential for impacting human health.
