Dear colleagues,
I am extremely pleased by your exceptional response to the AAMC StandPoint Surveys, and I sincerely appreciate each person who shared their input. Our faculty response rate, by school, was:
- School of Nursing: 79%
- School of Health Professions: 76%
- Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences: 71%
- School of Public and Population Health: 62%
- John Sealy School of Medicine: 60%
This is outstanding across the board! Thank you for making time for this worthwhile effort. Your insights will help us take the right steps to identify opportunities for improvement and thus enhance engagement and satisfaction across our campus. We look forward to sharing the results of the survey with you very soon.
Spring New Faculty Orientation takes place April 16, and I would like to express my strong encouragement for all faculty members to consider participating. Although it is especially important to those who have recently joined us, this program offers many benefits to faculty who are established at UTMB. Academic health is ever-changing, and our institution in particular has seen several significant changes in recent years. Attending this session helps ensure you are informed on the latest updates and available resources, acquainted with key leaders, and connected with more of your fellow faculty members. I hope to see an excellent turnout.
We also recently opened nominations for the FY2025 Faculty Excellence Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards. This is our opportunity to shine the spotlight on those who go above and beyond in their commitment to UTMB’s missions. Nominations are open through May 7. Please review the criteria and share your nominations to help us honor some of UTMB’s best and brightest faculty.
We will recognize the recipients at our Faculty Recognition Reception on September 4 – please save the date! The Office of Faculty Affairs is excited to host this event at UTMB for the second time, making it an annual tradition and a highlight of the year. It is truly our honor to uplift your achievements and celebrate your success. We are looking forward to another terrific event!
Sincerely,
Susan Chubinskaya, PhD, MS
