I hope that everyone is enjoying the beginning of fall and the cooler temperatures that have recently reached us. We were overjoyed to celebrate faculty excellence at UTMB’s inaugural Faculty Recognition Reception on Sept. 5. We had an outstanding turnout of honorees, leaders, and faculty members from all schools.

The Health Education Center has published its 2023-2024 Annual Report, providing an overview of the work accomplished at the HEC over the past fiscal year.

We are excited to announce the establishment of the Office of Interprofessional Continuing Education (OIPCE). Dr. Erin McGoff will lead the newly formed office.

The UTMB School of Nursing has been designated as an Apple Distinguished School for a second time! This redesignation is partly due to the nursing school's iLead (Innovative Learning Environment Accelerating Discovery) program, which emphasizes innovation in learning, teaching, and leadership through the use of technology in the classroom. We are proud to share how we use Apple technology in innovative ways to inspire, imagine and impact teaching and learning

The Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation annually honors 10 Piper Professors from across Texas for their dedication to teaching in addition to outstanding academic, scientific, and scholarly achievement.

Equipment that has been historically vital to the education of UTMB students for years is now being utilized to train nursing and midwifery students in Ghana, thanks to a recent donation.

The beginning of a new academic year is always a busy and exciting time. Congratulations to our School of Health Professions and Physician Assistant Studies Program on their August commencements! Now, we are welcoming new students, resuming classes, and beginning our work to make FY25 a successful and productive year.

The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) is announcing its 2025 leadership programming portfolio. Starting in January, OFA will be launching its inaugural Executive Leadership Series (for Department Chairs).

The Faculty Recognition Reception is an annual celebratory event where faculty are recognized for their accomplishments and contributions to the institution and where the recipients of the Faculty Excellence Awards are honored.
