Rain and storm chances will be increasing towards the end of the week as a disturbance moves through. Rain rates exceeding 1 inch per hour at times will be possible, mainly south of I-10. Rainfall totals should broadly range between 2.0 - 5.0 inches over these two days, though higher amounts of 5.0 - 9.0 inches will be possible in spots, especially in the Watch area. Stay weather-aware and prepared.
In addition to the heavy rainfall threat, the Storm Prediction Center has added a Slight (Level 2/5) to Marginal (Level 1/5) Risk across Southeast Texas on Thursday and Friday. A few isolated strong to severe storms will be possible and could produce damaging wind gusts and hail.
Tonight will see overcast skies with warm and muggy conditions. Can start to see some scattered showers across our far SW counties late tonight towards daybreak Thursday.
