The IS CMC Technical Operations (IS CMC) team supports Correctional Managed Care and its strategic objectives by providing and maintaining IT infrastructure for CMC’s statewide clinical operations.

IS CMC responsibilities include the Pearl EHR application, database and image server; Pharmacy Medication Administration Recording System (PRS/SMART), utilization review system, hospital claims management system, SAP BI Suite reporting application, departmental desktops and telemedicine systems.

Moving forward Guardian Integrated Medical System will be the new name for the PEARL EHR and all clinical ancillary systems that make up the electronic health record for managing the patient care for Texas inmates incarcerated in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system.

Guardian, for short is under development at this time, and will be until approximately the summer of 2027. At that time, the "rebuilt" version of the PEARL EHR we have today, will be live as Guardian Integrated Medical System.

From May 2024 through the summer of 2027, Guardian will be going through a change in underlying technology, a new color scheme, updated layout, and customer artwork. Below are three images for Guardian Integrated Medical System, that is under development today.

Image one is the full version of text and logo, with the new blue color scheme. It will be used in most internal marketing and project correspondence and presentations.

Image two is an alternate version of the logo, and may be substituted for image two for any reason by the presenter.

Image three is the new desktop icon that will be published at go-live which will be the gateway into the new EHR.
