Wearable Sensors to Measure Motion, Physical Activity, and Physical Function During Daily Life
Date: December 21, 2023
Time: 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm
Location: Marie Hall, 4th floor, SHP/SON Bldg and via Microsoft Teams
Presented by
Melissa (Missy) Morrow, PhD
Professor, A. Russell Shearn Moody Distinguished Chair in Neurological Rehabilitation, Associate Director, CHPPRR
Dr. Missy Morrow, PhD and CHPPRR faculty presented on wearable sensors currently available in CHPPRR that measure body motion, quantify physical activity and loading metrics, and provide insight into the quality of physical function in the real-world.
At the Lunch and Learn interactive lecture, attendees were introduced to how wearable sensors can measure and how to apply them to their own research. Dr. Morrow demonstrated the use of the following widely used commercial systems: APDM Opals, Actigraph
Activity and Sleep Monitors, and novel® loadsol® sensor.
