Now Accepting Pre-Submissions: MBHI Collaborative Pilot Grant Program

The UTMB Moody Brain Health Institute (MBHI) is pleased to announce that pre-submissions are now open for the Collaborative Pilot Grant Program. This initiative is designed to support innovative, interdisciplinary research collaborations across UTMB’s five schools. The program aims to help investigators explore novel ideas, gather preliminary data, and position projects for future competitive multi-PI grant applications to agencies such as the NIH.

Program Highlights & Key Dates

 Collaborative Focus: Only team-based pre-submissions will be considered. Individual PI submissions are not eligible.

 Eligible Disciplines: Proposals from basic, clinical, and translational neuroscience-related fields are welcome.

 Interdisciplinary Encouragement: Pre-submissions that integrate at least one neuroscience component are strongly encouraged.

 Budget: Up to $75,000 in direct costs (no indirect costs allowed).

 Pre-submission Deadline: June 30, 2025

 Full Application Deadline: August 11, 2025

 Award Announcements: September 25, 2025

 Funding Period: October 7, 2025 – August 31, 2026
